Amy Tykeson has been a dynamic leader in the telecommunications industry for the past 34 years. As CEO of BendBroadband she has helped shape national telecom policy and has delivered technological firsts for BendBroadband. She is most proud of BendBroadband’s culture of excellence, innovation and community service. Under her leadership, BendBroadband employees put customers first, give back to the community and enjoy the work-life balance that makes Central Oregon a desirable place to live and work.
Starting her career in cable television with Home Box Office, Amy advanced to VP of Marketing in New York before returning to Oregon in 1988 to join her father, Don Tykeson, in several family enterprises, including BendBroadband. At the helm of BendBroadband since 1997, Amy also serves on the board of directors for the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, CableLabs, C-SPAN, Oregon Health Sciences University and Economic Development for Central Oregon.
Amy was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame in 2013 and received the NCTA’s Distinguished Leadership Award in 2007; she is a 2014 Orchid Award recipient. In addition to her industry pursuits, Amy is a Trustee of the Tykeson Family Charitable Trust which supports education and health. She holds a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Oregon.
